There’s something serene about the dapple-shaded setting of this inviting villa. Tucked away between the trees, its nine-metre pool is encircled by rustic stone borders, planted with shrubs and meeting the broad lawn beyond. Just above pool level, the villa’s lower ground floor is home to all four of its bedrooms, two en suite doubles and two twin rooms, each cheerfully furnished and stylishly uncluttered. An exterior staircase follows the contours of the landscape to the upper floor of the house, where a terracotta tiled terrace is sheltered by surrounding treetops and furnished with sundowner seating; and social space within the house includes a contemporary open plan kitchen/dining room with a door to an al fresco dining area, and a sitting room with big sofas under a high raftered roof.
